We’ve been very lucky to have shot another amazing wedding at Fforest in Wales. If you’ve not been there it’s worth checking out – we love this venue for it’s beautiful location and relaxed, weekend-long celebrations. We think it’s the most beautiful wedding venue for alternative/eco glamping style weddings in the uk. Fforest is set in the most stunning natural landscape. Tipi’s and domes form the wedding party accommodation, all with wood burning stoves and their own kitchens. It has it’s own ‘Bwythn’ which is an old stone pub, and a big round tipi for a humanist wedding ceremony and evening party entertainment.
Lewis and Jooles knew exactly what they wanted, finding a wedding venue that they could bring their family and friends together for the whole weekend, and offer them, a chance to really relax and spend time with each other over a few days. It was really important for them that the style of the wedding fitted the venue and so they chose quite a rustic vibe, nothing too over the top, with vintage wedding touches. The flowers on the day were in keeping with the season and very natural. The day was structured around a beautiful humanist ceremony and a tea party, including lots of amazing cakes and finger sandwiches. Fforest provide much of the table decoration with ornate vintage hand sewn table clothes, bunting and candelabras. This tea party was followed by a big hog roast later in the evening and a savoury cheese cake. Several cheeses’ stacked on top of one another accompanied by a selection of homemade chutneys made by their guests. It was a fantastic day that just flowed effortlessly and suited the couple down to a tee. This time, even the weather was behaved, helping us to capture beautiful wedding photography…
Apples with guests name tags were a perfect touch for the natural setting.
Handmade place setting offered as a wedding gift from Lewis’ best friend
The ceremony was held in the open-sided tipi with stunning views over the welsh countryside
After the ceremony the guests toasted the couple on the lawn while we set up for some formal portraits of the immediate family members.
